Once you've placed your bets in any of the boxes, the dealer will spin the wheel and let it move in a clockwise motion. When the wheel starts to move, you will see that the ball starts to drop. The longer the wheel spins, the bigger the odds of the ball landing on the number you've bet on.

The payout for an outside bet is 30 to 1.

The house advantage for roulette is 5.26 percent.

In American roulette, there is an extra '0' pocket which decreases the odds to 6.26 percent.

You would have to divide the entire amount of your bet by 35. This means that you would have to divide $1 into 35 bets to achieve the house advantage.

If you place all your bets on the 0 or 00 pockets, the odds are 1 in 37 chances you will lose money.
