Are the Online Poker Rooms Cheating You, Too?
I love playing poker. It's a pastime I shares with my friends, and it's a game we've all played with friends and family for years. Over the years it matured, and I took what I know and developed my own play style that's specific to my personality.
However, over the last couple of years, I started to notice something different about my poker game. It started to change the feel of the game for me, and I noticed plenty of reasons for it. At the same time, I started to have more intense "runs" and bad beats, which of course, made me become a lot more cautious with my starting hands. It got so that I rarely played "like a pro" anymore, and I was beginning to lose a lot of money.
Then I had a revelation. I realized that my problem wasn't because of the poker rooms forcing me to play with terrible hands, or because of bad beats. No, what made me different was that I couldn't enjoy the game for what it was. I became practiced in thinking about hands, onlyicing out on my reads, always afraid to bet, or getting unlucky with the flop or the turn. It was a bad combination of things, and something I could no longer afford to do.
That's when I decided to learn to play poker properly, and what helped me was perfecting a freeroll sit and go tournament strategy. I started playing free games from the local casino, Everleaf gaming club, and I gained enough confidence to start playing real money games. That's when my real life poker skills came out loud and clear. I didn't play any real poker for almost 2 years. I slowly worked my way up to micro stakes, and then moved up to low stakes. Slowly but surely, I improved my game. I eventually played in the world series of poker. I got to the final table. I won a ticket to WSOP.
After that I fell out of love with poker, except maybe for some cash games. I wasn't interested in them at first, because I wanted to win money. Then I started reading some books by Phil Gordon, and I learned a lot about money management in poker. I also read a lot of articles and tips by Tom McEvoy, and also read a bunch of articles by Dan Harrington. I improved my game, and at times, I still ran into a lot of outstanding players.
Dan Harrington is like a friend to me. We played together in high stakes games and talked about many things. I actually got so tired of running into the สมัครบาคาร่า same players over and over again, that sometimes I promised myself I would stop playing and go take a break. When I did quit, though, the games just kind of went from being drab to being nonexistent. Although I did play in a lot of games professionally, I took a lot of breaks between jobs and had no particular focus other than poker.
One of the interesting aspects of my story is that I developed my customized roulette strategy, Win or Lose, during a period when the only truly important advice I received on roulette was about bankroll management. I actually learned a lot about the game of roulette by reading Harrington, Gordon, and McEvoy. Whileinion, and Park might have been great teachers, they tended to teach me how to lose money, not how to win it back.
Eventually I changed my strategy to bet against the most likely outcomes, and started winning a lot more than I lost. As I built up a decent bankroll, the casinos gestures discipline, and the games just started flowing again.
Perhaps the only rub of the winnings was that I had become a little greedy, so I started chasing my wins and started increasing my bets wildly, even when I was losing. As I evolved as a poker player, these fits of greed usually resulted in losses of the same magnitude or longer.
If you're a risk averse person, you may want to stay away from playing in online casinos. Though the games are often very finely honed and sometimes governed by really good play, there's always a chance something can go wrong.
But if you love gambling, you can't do without the rush that comes with placing a hefty wager on a game you know beyond doubt will make you a winner.
As far as roulette is concerned, a highly skilled roulette player can have as much as a eighty percent chance of winning.
